Recollections of My Puppy is a poignant, funny, and sometimes tear evoking chronicle of the first year of the life of Boo, a Golden Retriever, with her Dad, Arthur. It begins when Boo, then eight weeks old, comes to live in Dad’s home, and ends on year later when Boo leaves babyhood and becomes an adolescent.

Dad tells me that we are blessed with good fortune. Now I don’t know much about who it is that does the blessing but I know that Dad and I are very fortunate to have each other. But there are lots of people and animals that are not so lucky. There are strays who have no home, not even a crate! Some families just can’t afford to take care of their animals anymore. It makes me want to cry just thinking about having to give up a home and the people we love so much because there isn’t enough food to go around. So Dad and I have decided that we don’t need to make money from my book but we do want to make a difference. We decided to sell my book everywhere we can and all of the money that we get after paying for printing and mailing will be donated to animal rescues around the country.
So because you bought my book, you contributed to the happiness of another animal somewhere. Thank you for that!

Arthur Alan Wolk is a lawyer who practices air crash litigation.
Living alone, Dad, as he is called decided the committing to a dog would be away to have companionship and at the same time give and get unconditional love. Having searched for a Golden Retriever on the internet, Dad found Boo at a breeder who had no puppies, but reluctantly agreed to part with Boo whom she was keeping for herself.
Dad rearranged both his personal and business life to accommodate the needs of his new charge, and the commitment has been mutual. Boo and Dad are buds and the relationship had proven healthy and helpful to both. Dad is more mellow and Boo had contributed immensely to that. Boo is a secure, happy and well behaved dog, and Dad’s dedication has been important for that.
Arthur has been published worldwide in his field.
Hi Boo,
I wanted to congratulate you on your book, Recollections of My Puppy. I purchased a copy while at a book signing in Narberth. I enjoyed the story as told thru a time-lapsed series of your emails to Kate. You are part of a loving family and that is excellent.
I will pass my copy along to a younger needy child in Philadelphia. Too many children in our great city don't have books to read. Your book tells a wonderful story and can be used to develop general reading skills for children in need of books to read. Thanks for signing my copy. I will tell the young child who receives this book that it is a personalized copy directly from Boo.
Sincerely, Robert Devine Wayne, PA
PS. I read your book while sitting in a hospital waiting room. It provided a good source of conversation and even cheered up a few people in need of some news to brighten their day. Your dry sense of humor added a special touch making some of the emails very enjoyable to read aloud for others nearby who needed something to bring a smile to their face, even if just for a moment or two.
PPS. Listen, Happy Holidays and I look forward to reading your next book.
